Fudōshin, often translated as "immovable mind" or "unshakable mind," is a core principle in Japanese martial arts. Fudōshin embodies a serene yet resolute state, characterized by unwavering determination and an indomitable spirit. It signifies a mindset committed to victory, brimming with bravery, resilience, and an unwavering resolve to overcome any challenge it encounters.

This concept is closely linked to an overwhelming sense of inner strength, where the mind remains impervious to confusion, hesitation, doubt, or fear. In other words, it is the ability to remain calm and imperturbable under pressure.

Fudōshin finds its symbol in the Shingon Buddhist deity known as Acala or Fudō Myōō, who is counted among the "Kings of Wisdom" and revered as a guardian deity of warriors. It conveys many symbolic meanings, and it’s one of my favorites.
